American University, Brussels Center

American University’s Brussels Center is located on the Brussels campus of the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL). This campus is a vibrant educational community where over 7,000 students attend classes at ten institutions of higher learning. It is small, modern, and easy to reach via public transportation. The campus features an athletic facility, and many bars, cafés, and restaurants.

AU's Brussels Center is centrally located on this campus, and the metro stop is twenty meters from the door to our building! The AU Brussels Center features a spacious classroom, a conference room, a small computer area for student use, a small collection of travel books and literature for student use, free wireless Internet connection for students and, of course, faculty and staff office space.

American University's Brussels Center is located at Place de l'Alma/Almaplein 3, 1200 Brussels. This facility is on the Woluwe campus of the Universite Catholique de Louvain (UCL), and adjacent to UCL's St. Luc Hospital in Woluwe Saint Lambert (1200 Brussels.) The easiest way to find the building is by metro. By metro from the center of Brussels, use the Alma metro stop (which is on the line that goes in the direction of Stokkel.) This is an outdoor metro stop and you will see our building across the small street at Place de l' Alma #3 as you exit from the stop. (Do not take the escalator.) At the entrance, there are doorbells to your left, one of which is marked "American University."

If you are arriving by car, there are two ways to find us:

  • Arriving via the Ring, use exit #2 for Wezembeek Oppem. If you are heading south on the ring, make a right at the end of the exit. If you are heading north on the ring, make a left. This street is Wezeembeeklaan. You will pass a Carrefour on the right, then a Quick Restaurant, then the Kraainem metro stop. Shortly after passing the Kraainem metro, look for a small white sign for the "Place de l' Alma." Turn right at that sign onto the avenue de la Lesse. Take the avenue de la Lesse until it ends and make a right. You will pass by the front of our building at Place de l' Alma #3 on your right.
  • If you are coming from downtown Brussels, take the avenue de Tervuren to the Boulevard du Woluwe. Make a left onto the Boulevard du Woluwe. You will come to the Woluwe Shopping Center on your left. When you get there, the Boulevard continues into a small tunnel. Do not take this tunnel. Instead, leave the Boulevard on the street that goes to the right. This brings you to the intersection with avenue V andervelde. Take a right onto avenue V andervelde, which turns into Wezembeeklaan. Shortly after passing the V andervelde metro stop, look for a small white sign for the "Place de l' Alma." Turn left at that sign onto the avenue de la Lesse. Take the avenue de la Lesse until it ends and make a right. You will pass by the front of our building at Place de l' Alma #3 on your right.
