1. Early Decision Agreement
2. AU Institutional Financial Aid Application (IFAA)
The Early Decision Agreement is to be downloaded and submitted by November 15 with other application documents by freshmen who are applying Early Decision. Download the form from our site: http://admissions.american.edu/fileLibrary/EDAgreement.pdf

You may also complete the AU IFAA on your personal AU Prospective Student Portal. Create your portal from the homepage by selecting "Prospective Student Portal/Apply Online" http://admissions.american.edu. You need to complete the IFAA supplement only if you are applying for financial aid.
AU also requires that you submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA): http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ Financial Aid Deadlines The FAFSA must be submitted to the federal processor (preferably online), and the AU Institutional Financial Aid Application must be received by AU by or before February 15 for priority consideration for financial aid. If you plan to apply Early Decision, you should complete the AU Institutional Financial Aid Application form and send it to AU on or before November 15. You should also complete the FAFSA as soon as possible after January 1.
Mail your completed forms to: Undergraduate Financial Aid American University 4400 Massachusetts Avenue, NW Washington, DC 20016-8001, or fax them to 202-885-1025. Please note that financial aid is available only to U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents. However, all applicants, regardless of citizenship, are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships.
