Communication Studies is the newest major offered by the School of Communication. It's a great option if you want to develop a strong understanding of media and communication. As a Communication Studies major, you'll start with a series of required courses that introduce you to visual media, public relations and journalism and media ethics. After you complete your core courses, you take a series of media studies courses with a special focus. You can choose a concentration in Media and Government, History of the Media, Media and Society or International Media. The goal of the School of Communication is to develop liberally-educated and professionally-trained communicators who are equipped, intellectually and ethically, to convey the issues of contemporary society.
