The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at American University offers many options to the undergraduate population. One can pursue a B.S. in Mathematics, Statistics, and Applied Mathematics as well as a number of minors. There are also two M.S. degrees offered in both Statistics and Mathematics, both of which can be completed in a joint B.S. /M.S. five-year program. The department has also created several resources for students, including the math/stat tutoring lab in Grey Hall and the social science research lab located in Hurst Hall.
