This graduate semester-long program offers AU graduate students the unique opportunity to direct-enroll in courses within Carlos III’s Master in European Law Program, which combines academic research in EU law with practical field experience with both EU and Spanish institutions to be a platform for students pursing careers in law, government, business, or academia. The Program offers a contemporary curriculum set against the historic backdrop of one of Europe’s most exciting cities, and offers students the opportunity to experience the EU from a Spanish perspective. The Carlos III academic calendar typically runs from September – January for the fall semester, and from February – June for the spring semester.
Students on the program earn 9 credits toward their respective M.A. degree. The program is intended for students with an advanced level of Spanish proficiency, as Universidad Carlos III de Madrid is taught entirely in Spanish; students must demonstrate a high intermediate level of proficiency at the time of application. The program is open to all graduate students in any AU school or college.
The application deadline for study in Fall 2010 is April 5. For further information and to obtain an application, visit: http://www.american.edu/sis/sisabroad/gradsemester/madrid.cfm
