Sustainable Agriculture in Comparative Perspective

Wellington, New Zealand

Experience the breathtaking natural beauty of New Zealand while gaining firsthand knowledge about the country's sustainable methods of agricultural production.

The program consists of two academic components worth three credits each: a seminar and an optional internship or independent research. Students will spend time in both Wellington and Auckland and enjoy site visits and field trips throughout the North and South Islands.  These trips may include a stay on a marae (a traditional Maori settlement); a weekend stay on a local farm; the Ruakura Agricultural Research Station, one of the world's largest dairy research centers; conservations areas; and New Zealand's largest wind farm.

Graduate students in all majors and disciplines from any U.S. university may apply.
