SUBJECT: New features of We KNOW Success website

We are pleased to announce enhancements to the We KNOW Success: Where AU Grads Land website. The site continues to provide straightforward, reliable information to current and prospective members of our community about success and outcomes for American University graduates.

We KNOW Success shows where AU graduates are working, what they are earning, and where they are enrolled in graduate study, within six months of graduation.

New enhancements to the site include:

  • Outcomes for the Class of 2014. An additional year of data (a total of four cohorts of graduates) allows us to present outcomes for more small departments, when previously they may have had too few graduates to be fairly represented.

  • Faculty profiles highlighting the role of faculty mentoring in contributing to successful student outcomes upon graduation. These supplement the alumni success stories on the site.

  • More expansive internship information. Users can search internship participation rates by degree and view sites where at least five students have interned for academic credit.

  • Study abroad participation rates by degree. The site links to a map showing where undergraduates have traveled for AU study abroad.

AU is among the first universities to present specific and reliable information on the early outcomes of its graduates in a customized and easily accessible format. Some of the successful outcomes for the Class of 2014 include:

  • 90 percent of AU grads earning a bachelor's degree are employed, enrolled in graduate school, or both, within six months of graduation.

  • 90 percent of those who are working hold jobs related to their degree.

  • AU grads work in all sectors, and not surprisingly, given our mission and history, nearly half of those who earned a bachelor's degree work in the non-profit and government sectors.

  • Those enrolled in graduate school are enrolled in master's and PhD programs at excellent universities.

  • Similarly strong employment and salary outcomes are reported by students earning master's degrees, with 90 percent working within six months of graduation.

We hope you will explore the newly enhanced website and share it with friends, family and colleagues.
