Ranking 19th among medium-sized schools, American University sent 21 graduating seniors to the 2010 Teach for America corps.

Last year, Teach for America — composed of recent college grads and professionals who commit to teach for two years in urban and rural public schools — received a record 46,000 applications. This fall, more than 4,500 individuals, from 630 colleges and universities, will begin teaching in schools across the country.

In the medium-size school category, AU is joined by such institutions as Yale, Columbia, Harvard, and Princeton.
