Winter Break: January 6-7, 2015
The Career Center, Kogod School of Business, School of Communication and Office of Development and Alumni Relations invite you to participate in the NYC Site Visit Trip January 6-7, 2015.
Designed for career exploration and in-depth networking, the trip offers a select cohort of 25 students exposure to career paths and industry trends as well as exclusive access to AU alumni living and working in New York City.
Attend site visits over the course of the two days and have the opportunity to engage with alumni and employers at an intimate student-alumni networking dinner on January 6. Students will have in-depths visits with a range of organizations, including:
- FOX News
- MWW Group
In addition to site visits, students will also be able to meet alumni from organizations like Sirius XM, AMC, United Entertainment Group, Ketchum, CBS, The AP, New York Post, and Arcadia Creative.
Sophomores, juniors, seniors, and graduate students interested in pursuing a career in marketing, advertising, public relations, journalism, television, film, or a related field are eligible to participate. Preference will be given to those who demonstrate a career focus and professionalism through the application process. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so get yours in as soon as possible.
Unofficial transcript that demonstrates a minimum GPA of 3.0 (transfer students/first-year graduate students may submit their most recent transcripts from their previous institutions).
Statement of purpose in 300 words or less that addresses what you hope to gain from the trip and your expectations for how the trip will impact your career development.
Applications will be accepted through AU CareerWeb / Kogod CareerSource (search for position 94806 on either page) beginning Friday, November 14 at 12:01 a.m. and ending on Thursday, November 20 at 11:59 p.m. Only complete applications will be considered.
- Attend a trip orientation on Monday, November 24, from 5 –7 p.m., location TBA (let us know if you have a major conflict)
- Attend all scheduled events during the NYC Site Visit trip, beginning at 8:30 a.m. on January 6 and ending by 6 p.m. on January 7, 2015.
- Submit a $100 nonrefundable registration fee for confirmed attendees by 5 p.m. on Monday, November 24. Financial assistance may be available for students who find the registration fee cost-prohibitive.
- Students are responsible for their own arrangements and costs associated with travel, accommodations, and all meals unless otherwise indicated in the final schedule.
