EIP, an enrichment program for academically outstanding sophomores, is co-sponsored by University Honors and the Career Center's Office of Merit Awards. The purposes of the program are to introduce students to major scholarship opportunities and to help them to identify, early on in their academic careers, the skills and experiences that they will need in order to compete effectively. EIP is comprised of a series of skills workshops and information sessions offered over the course of two semesters.

Participants include all sophomores in the University Honors and Frederick Douglass Scholarship programs, as well as all other sophomores with cumulative grade point averages of 3.7 or higher.

A number of EIP members have pursued and won nationally competitive scholarships, including the Harry S. Truman Scholarship, the NSEP/David L. Boren Undergraduate Scholarship, and the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship.
