Adrienne Vollmer '11 has never considered herself to be just an American, but rather a member of the global community.

The School of International Service student interned at The Atlantic Council of the United States, a think tank that supports NATO through policy creation and implementation.

There, Vollmer found she could have a global impact.

Vollmer, like most students, had little or no office experience coming into college. However, by using the Career Center and the resources located online and in the office, she was able to translate her interests into an internship opportunity. After crafting a cover letter and resume, she submitted them to The Atlantic Council of the United States and was hired as an intern.

At The Atlantic Council of the United States, Vollmer focused her internship on youth outreach and organizing global conferences that paralleled NATO Summits.

Now that Vollmer has gotten a taste for the international life, she plans to take her studies and eventually her career abroad.
