Government Policies

Most of the programs and initiatives of the governments are located hosted by the educational institutions in the country. In addition, several programs also exist in some of the government-subsidized businesses and in government agencies. These programs generally are in the form of financial aid or facilities to researchers. The only issue with such programs is that as efforts are not recognized nor do ideas go any further that a file or a folder on someone's office shelves. Such practice defies the purpose of these programs. At this time Saudi Arabia has not drafted an information technology plan, but it is expected to in the coming years. The country also does not have any GII plans laid down at the time, such issues are expected to become more important once the country is done with the deployment of the infrastructure needed for such plans.
