| Cathy
Newman is a MBA candidate at the American University, Kogod School
of Business in Washington, DC. She is a full-time student with an anticipated
graduation date of December 2000. She is concentrating in Management of
Global Information Technology and e-Commerce Management. Cathy is currently
working for William M. Mercer Consulting as a Data and Systems Analyst.
She has been intstrumental in developing a three-year technology strategy
for the company's US Sales and Marketing operations. Cathy received her
BBA from Marymount University in Arlington, VA with a concentration in
Health Care Administration. She has also worked several years in the health
care industry. Upon graduation, Cathy will pursue a career as an IT consultant
with American Management Systems.
Cathy chose to report on the technology
landscape of Iceland because the country is surprisingly advanced considering
its geography and population demographics. It is interesting to analyze
the innovation and unique technology adoption of such a small and relatively
isolated country.
