Goals of Puerto Rico's Department of Education

   The goal of the Department of Education with respect to technology use is to provide       access to computers and the internet to 80% of the  student population, teachers, and educational administration by March of 2004.52 In pursuing this goal, they have set the following timetable:

  • 20% of the population online by June of 2002.
  • An additional 30% by June of 2003.
  • A final 30% by March of 2004.
