When conducting an analysis on the information technology environment of a country it is important to look at the level of information technology and determine where it is located. Often times, industries will set shop near one another and form what is known as a cluster. Within these clusters, it is believed companies enjoy greater speeds to market, higher levels of innovation due to competitive rivalries, and even prestige associated with being part of a "cluster". Analyzing the geography of information technology also helps pinpoint the existence, or lack there of, of cybercities, technopolies, and high-tech industrial parks. Discussions of each will be discussed in this section of the website.
