Why We Chose Ecuador
We chose Ecuador because it provides a good case study, illustrating many of the issues facing small countries as they develop capacities for the use of information and communication technology. Serious questions remain as to how the least developed countries, like Ecuador, will respond to globalization and the advances in information technology that sustain it. We are curious as to how countries like Ecuador will respond to the threats and promises of widespread diffusion of information technology.
