About the Author
My name is Kadiatou Diallo, born and raised in Guinea. I came to the US in 1993 and graduated in 1997 from the American University with a Bachelors in Finance.  I am currently working at Primark (www.primark.com) as a Product Manager.  I am also pursing at the same time an MBA in Investment Banking and Development Banking at the American University.

I have to recognize that I was not aware how ignorant I was about my own country until I started working on this project.  In my mind, things were still as I had left them back in 1993.  I was really glad and impressed to find out that at last something was improving in Guinea. Through my research I found out that Guinea is one of the African countries that have the most liberalized telecommunications sector, and one of the few that have registered much growth in the sector.  I think that the government should be applauded for supporting the sector, and for recognizing that its development is one of the keys to improving the economic conditions of the country.  I hope that other aspect of the economy will be given the same support as well. Yes, there is still a lot to do, but I am confident that we are on the good path and that we will get there.  Hopefully, we will not get there too late.
