Order Management Systems (OMS)

Enterprise resource planning
Supply chain planning
Order Management Systems
Manufacturing Execution Systems
Warehouse Management Systems
Transportation management systems
Integration of the functions
To Outsource or not to Outsource

These systems sit between the planning and execution software systems. The OMS takes orders and checks inventory to be able to plan. The system interfaces with the MES, the WMS and the TMS. Often these systems also link to the customer service systems, as these systems also have the capacity to determine expected shipment and delivery dates based on inventory availability.
