Accept our offer of admission. Enroll now.

To enroll in the College of Arts and Sciences submit your enrollment deposit of $250* online. This deposit is nonrefundable and will be held in your student account and credited toward your tuition. 


To submit your enrollment deposit online

If you've already set up your myau.american.edu account: Go directly to Eagle Finances, and pay your deposit by credit card or e-check (after logging in): https://eaglefinances.american.edu/Student/.
 

Create account

If not, use your AU ID (from your acceptance packet)
to set up your account:

• Open myau.american.edu, use the "Create your account" link, and follow the simple steps.

• After setting up the myau account, you can pay your deposit by credit card or e-check at https://eaglefinances.american.edu/Student/
(or browse the myau top menu to Finances >> Eagle Finances).

• After enrollment is processed, an advisor will contact you with information on how to register for classes.

All graduate students must adhere to the American University graduate student regulations and academic integrity code. Please make sure to review this information online before courses begin.


* The enrollment deposit is waived for students receiving a merit award or who are AU employees. If your admission
includes conditions of acceptance, it is your responsibility to meet those conditions according to the specified schedule.


Defer Enrollment

An admitted student may request to defer his/her enrollment for up to one academic year. For example, if you are admitted for Fall 2014, you may defer your admission to Spring 2015, Summer 2015, or Fall 2015. To request a deferral, please email Kathy Clowery at clowery@american.edu with the following information:

  • Your name
  • Program to which you are admitted
  • Reason for requesting deferral
  • Semester to which you would like to defer (up to one year)

Your deferral must be approved by your academic unit's graduate advising faculty or staff member. You will receive an email with a final decision.

 

Decline Enrollment

If you decide not to enroll at AU, let us know via e-mail at casgrad@american.edu. Please include your reasons for choosing another institution.
