Rusty Barrett is an Associate Professor of Linguistics at the University of Kentucky. His book, From Drag Queens to Leathermen: Language, Gender, and Gay Male Subcultures, is forthcoming from Oxford University Press. Barrett and Kira Hall are currently co-editing the Oxford Handbook of Language and Sexuality.
