, Abramson Family Recital Hall

Updated 10/9/17

In advance of an exhibition opening in March 2019 at the Freer|Sackler, the Smithsonian's museums of Asian Art, Jan Stuart, Melvin R. Seiden Curator of Chinese Art, will give a lecture examining the lives of empresses in China’s last dynasty, explicating their role in court politics, art, and religion; thereby helping to reclaim their presence and influence that has been egregiously ignored by history.
