    Language coaching is offered at no charge to students enrolled in a language course at American University. It is available during CLEAR's regular operating hours.

    OUR COLLECTIONS

    CLEAR's collection of Foreign Language materials includes over 1,000 items and spans films, grammars, readers, textbooks, audio books, workbooks, dictionaries and self-teaching materials for less commonly taught languages. (Coming soon!)

    LANGUAGE EVALUATION

    CLEAR conducts a variety of language evaluations:  from placement tests to ascertain the class that will best match your existing abilities to graduate-level examinations that certify the fulfillment of a graduate program's foreign language requirements. We also assist in proctoring a number of web-based exams such as the CASA, and ACTFL's COPI.

    CLEAR has multiple spaces integrated with multimedia and computer equipment to facilitate technology-enhanced language instruction; the developmentof instructional materials, and the hosting of language-related events.

Operating Hours for Fall 2012 Semester

Monday – Thursday: 9:00 to 9:00

Friday: 9:00 to 5:00

Closed weekends and university holidays.
