Department of Physics
Dr. Hu is a computational physicist working on interacting many-body systems and quantum computing. In a broad sense, the core of her research interests seeks to understand how microscopic/individual behavior give rise to novel and complex collective patterns. Most of her research models fall into the category of cellular automata and agent-based models. Particularly, her research involves the intersection of computer and information science and quantum physics. She is interested in both applying computational models to simulate the collective dynamics of quantum many-body systems for quantum computers, and studying how unique properties of quantum systems lead to new computational advantages that can't be realized in classical systems.
