Dr. Casey Cook was named Musician in Residence and Director of AU Chorus in Fall 2014. He was named the Director of Music at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in 2009, bringing great gifts in conducting, composition, and vocal performance to their music ministries.
He has previously served as Assistant Director of the Tucson Chamber Artists (now called True Concord Voices and Orchestra) and the Associate Director of The Reston Chorale.
He earned his Doctor of Musical Arts in choral conducting from the University of Arizona, and also holds a Master of Music in choral conducting from the University of South Florida and a Bachelor of Music in music education from Miami University.
He has furthered his conducting studies with such choral legends as Weston Noble, Dale Warland, Simon Carrington, Peter Philips and the Hilliard Ensemble.
Casey’s compositional endeavors have brought him acclaim from around the country as well. He was named the 2006 composer-in-residence at the Arizona Science Center, which launched an award-winning compositional career that has seen performances throughout the southwest, including a recent commission for the largest pipe organ in Arizona. His music is currently being published by Kandinsky Music.
As a singer, Casey is in demand as a low bass, including recent performances with members of the Tallis Scholars, the Dale Warland Singers, and at the National Cathedral with the Cathedral Choral Society.
