Serge Kruk
Visiting Associate Professor
Department of Computer Science
-
Dr. Kruk wandered for years studying physics, computer science, engineering and philosophy in Montreal in the seventies, and then entered the industrial world to spend a decade designing optimization software, telecommunication protocols and real-time controllers.
After a last industrial post at Bell-Northern Research in the early nineties, Dr. Kruk spent the last twenty years as mathematics and computer science instructor at Waterloo, Wilfrid-Laurier, Oakland and finally American University.
His current research interests still bear the stamp of practicality enforced by years in industry: design and implementation of algorithms for semidefinite programming, scheduling, feasibility and the related numerical linear algebra and analysis. -
