Mary Switalski

- Mary Switalski began teaching at AU in 2007 while completing her MFA. She earned her BA in English Literature with a Creative Writing Subconcentration from the University of Michigan. She has also taught at the University of Maryland. She writes short fiction and was a recipient of a 2010 Individual Artist Award in Fiction granted by the Maryland State Arts Council. Her academic interests include resistance rhetoric and counter-culture movements, American Transcendentalism, Modernism and the Beat Generation. Non-academic interests include camping, art, travel and Michigan football.
