The College of Arts and Sciences faculty includes nationally and internationally noted artists, scholars, and teachers committed to innovative approaches to instruction and excellence in research and creative endeavors. Every year, world leaders, distinguished scholars from other institutions, and well-known practitioners in their fields come to campus to encourage open debate on current issues and to expose students to developments in their fields. The College has 339 full-time faculty members and 747 adjunct faculty members across 17 departments. Detailed scholarly, creative, and professional activities can be viewed on their profiles

College faculty members provide close mentorship throughout the program. A low student-to-faculty ratio allows students to build strong working relationships with faculty engaged in cutting-edge research. Through small class sizes and attentive faculty, students receive personalized attention in each course they are enrolled in. Faculty ties to various governmental, cultural, scientific, and historical institutions give students exposure to numerous research opportunities and connections to employment opportunities.

Depending on the program, students have the ability to choose elective courses and projects to tailor the curriculum to their desired outcomes. Convenient evening classes make it easy for working students to pursue graduate degrees. Most graduate level classes meet once a week at 5:30 or 8:10 p.m.
