The History Advisor: Study Abroad Courses Counting Toward a History Major/Minor |

The following courses offered by the AU ABROAD Program will count as stipulated towards fulfilling specific requirements for both the major and the minor in the department of history. All can be counted as elective courses for both the major and the minor. History courses offered by other study abroad programs may be accepted for credit in history, depending on how and by whom they are taught. If you are planning to go abroad in a non-AU World Capitals program and plan to take history courses, it is important that you check with the History Department in advance of going abroad. Andes to the Rain Forests Fulfills major requirement for one course in African, African-American, or Latin American history; fulfills minor requirement for one course in an area other than Western European, British, or US history. Australia and New Zealand Fulfills major requirement for one course in Asian, East European, Middle Eastern, or Russian history, and minor requirement for one course in an area other than Western European, British, or US history. Beijing and Hong Kong Fulfills major requirement for one course in Asian, East European, Middle Eastern, or Russian history, and minor requirement for one course in an area other than Western European, British, or US history. Modern Chinese History (3) = HIST-2xx Fulfills major requirement for one course in Asian, East European, Middle Eastern, or Russian history, and minor requirement for one course in an area other than Western European, British, or US history. Berlin Fulfills major and minor requirement for one course at the 300+ level in Western European or British history. Brussels/European Union Elective credit for both major and minor. Buenos Aires Economic History of Argentina (3) = HIST-340 Fulfills major requirement for one course in African, African-American, or Latin American history; fulfills minor requirement for one course in an area other than Western European, British, or US history. Counts as one 300+ level course for both major and minor. Tradition and Culture in Argentina (3) = HIST-340 Fulfills major requirement for one course in African, African-American, or Latin American history; fulfills minor requirement for one course in an area other than Western European, British, or US history. Counts as one 300+ level course for both major and minor. London Fulfills major and minor requirement for one course at the 300+ level in Western European or British history. Madrid Elective credit for both major and minor. Mediterranean Semester Fulfills major requirement for one course in ancient or medieval history; 3 elective credits.
