Peter Kuznick did an interview with Radio Free Europe comparing WWII and Vietnam-era government efforts to control the media with the Pentagon's new rapid response team's efforts to counter bad news in Iraq and elsewhere. Peter gave a paper titled "Teaching Nuclear History Before and After 9/11" at a conference on "Terrorism and the University" sponsored by the CUNY Center on Terrorism. He also did an interview with Bloomberg News on the life and career of Arthur Schlesinger, Jr., which, he hopes, they will find no need to use for many more years.
Eric Lohr was a discussant and panelist at conference “The Putin Era in Historical Perspective,” for the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Intelligence and Research and the National Intelligence Council. November 15, 2006. He was also the chair of the program committee, chair of two panels, and master of ceremonies for the American Association for the Advancement of Slavic Studies convention, November 16-19. Attendance: 2300.
Pamela Nadell presented “American Jewish Feminism,” Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, Cincinnati, OH, 11 December 2006. She was also Scholar-in-residence, Congregation B’nai Israel, Rockville, MD, 1-3 December, 2006.
