19th and 20th century United States social and cultural history; gender history; African-American history; popular culture

Bio:

Earned a masters degree in American Studies from the University of Alabama and a PhD in American Studies from the University of Michigan. Dr. Hill was a Community of Scholars fellow at the Institute for Research on Women and Gender at the University of Michigan in 2006. In 2007 he was selected to participate in the first annual Schlesinger Library Summer Seminar on Gender History at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study.
