June 2007

Faculty:

Kathy Franz was the Curator of “Macaulay: The Art of Drawing Architecture,” a 3,000 sq. ft. exhibition at the National Building Museum which opened, June 23, 2007 and runs January 21, 2008. Awarded a 2006 MacArthur Fellowship for his exceptional creativity, David Macaulay has introduced millions of readers to architectural and engineering history with his engaging, humorous, and beautifully rendered visual narratives. Featuring more than 100 original illustrations, the exhibition explores Macaulay’s creative process as a form of visual archeology—a metaphor for excavating past building practice through visual means. Read more about it in American Weekly.
