Kathy Franz presented a conference paper “The Peculiar Career of Ella Daggett: Preservation and Tejano Rights in San Antonio, Texas,” National Council Public History, Annual Meeting, Santa Fe, NM, April 2007. Kathy was invited talk: “David Macaulay: Drawing as Visual Archeology,” Speed Museum of Art, Louisville, KY, March 22, 2007. She was also nominated for the Executive Council for the Society for the History of Federal Government. She will serve on OAH Public History Committee, 2007-2011
Andrew Lewis was awarded the 2007 Outstanding Teaching in General Education for his outstanding work in "American Encounters 1492-1865." This award represents an acknowledgment by the university community of his excellence in the classroom. This award also reflects a number of letters of nomination and support from students and colleagues alike.
Peter Kuznick was interviewed by a reporter with the Howard University News Service on the need to educate college students about nuclear history and the current nuclear threat.
April Shelford received a call on April 13th, informing that her tenure had been approved! It was also her birthday.
