Faculty:

David Ekbladh awarded the Betty Miller Unterberger Dissertation Prize (sole runner-up with special consideration) of the Society for Historians of American Foreign Relations, for dissertations completed 2003-2004. He also presented a Paper, “South Korea as a U.S. Development Problem, 1945-1960” to the Society of Historians of American Foreign Relations Annual Conference at the U.S. National Archives in June 2005. David served as outside examiner for the Master in International Affairs comprehensive exam, School of Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University, May 2005

Valerie French appeared on The National Geographic Series, which she worked on last May in Turkey. The first segment, 'The Birth of Jesus,' in the series entitled The Science of the Bible aired three times from September 14-18.

Bob Griffith welcomed a new lady in his life on September 4, 2005!  Little Rachel (6 lbs 3oz) was born to son, Matt, and daughter-in-law Cami in Boston.

Peter Kuznick was interviewed by reporters from Le Devoir, The Village Voice, London Independent, and Akahata about comparisons between the Vietnam antiwar movement and the current antiwar movement regarding the US position in Iraq. He presented at the Community College of Philadelphia a lecture entitled, "Was This Really 'The Greatest Thing in History?': Harry Truman and the Atomic Bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki Reconsidered on the 60th Anniversary" on September 28, 2005.  Peter also facilitated a faculty seminar at the Community College of Philadelphia on nuclear history.

Christine Aghazarm was accepted into the London School of Economics MA program in European Social Policy with a special interest in immigration studies. 

Elizabeth Stewart was quoted in an article entitled “The Banneker-Douglass Museum links its new gallery space to an old church” by Jamie Stiehm in the Baltimore Sun on September 11, 2005.
