Research Interests
Professor Werth specializes in contemporary Latin
American Theatre and Southern Cone Studies. Her areas of interest
include postdictatorial literary and cultural production (in
particular, theatre and film), memory studies, performance and
reception theory. She has published articles on unresolved mourning,
the legacy of national icons, and the relationship between metadrama
and media in contemporary Argentine theatre. She is currently working
on a book project based on her dissertation entitled Dramatic
Interventions: Performance and Memory Politics in Contemporary
Argentine Theatre. In addition to Spanish language, Professor Werth
teaches special topics courses on diverse aspects of the Southern
Cone, including Postdictatorial Literature, Icons and Identity, and
Human Rights.
