You're Chopped

AU students learn the chemistry of cooking.

One of the highlights of AU’s Chemistry of Cooking class is a cooking competition modeled after the Food Network show Chopped. In this semester’s cooking battle, students had one hour to prepare a dessert from kale, potatoes, marshmallows, and eggs. The plates were then judged on presentation, creativity, and smell. Students left the class with new cooking skills—and a deeper understanding of chemistry that they can apply to their everyday lives
