stage management, music theatre, directing methodologies,
auditioning and monologue preparation and other selected

Dance Styles for Music Theatre
Audition techniques are explored specifically for
the dancer in music theatre. The course examines choreography
and different dance styles from choreographers such
as Jerome Robbins, Bob Fosse, and Gus Giordano. The
student develops skills in phrase development and
"quick study," analysis of space, time and
effort, and movement improvisation. Meets with PERF-650

Acting Shakespeare
An advanced acting course designed to give the student
both the tools for script and character analysis and
various performance techniques required to create
the variety of styles and genres found in the plays
of William Shakespeare. Also includes a consideration
of the original historical context of Shakespeare's
works and requirements of modern performance. Prerequisite:
PERF-251 and PERF-252 or permission of instructor.
