What is your academic/professional background prior to coming to AU?
I graduated with a BS in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech in 2009.
Why did you choose AU, and the MA in ATEC in particular?
I was always interested in making music, but I found myself putting it off because of (engineering) school, work or whatever else was going on in my life. I decided that graduate school was the push I needed to commit to not only learning about making music, but, more importantly, becoming a practitioner. I chose AU because it is convenient to my home and office and Gaithersburg, MD, and because it has a wide range of offerings. It was a relief knowing that I could explore the different fields of music recording/production, film sound, computer music, or broadcast, and figure out which one will be right for me. It is also very convenient that classes occur weekday evenings and weekends, which allows me to keep my full-time job.
Can you describe what you are working on at your current internship/job?
I am currently a Patent Examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, where I examine patent applications related to Computer Task Management and Virtual Machines.

What is your academic/professional background prior to coming to AU?
From 2002 until 2009 I was a signed recording artist with Victory records in Chicago and later, Triple Crown records in New York. This opportunity allowed me to work with many different producers in various recording studios all over the country. Additionally, I was able to perform and tour with big name artists in support of my band's album releases. In 2012 I received my BS from Kogod School of Business at AU.
Why did you choose AU, and the MA in audio technology in particular?
AU was chosen because they are clearly dedicated to the growth and success of their ATEC program. The recording facility is on par with any world class studio that I've ever been to. The studio provides a perfect environment for learning complex signal routing in both analog and digital domains. Additionally, the professors in the program have achieved high levels of music industry success and are passionate about helping students broaden their skills and knowledge. They also never hesitate to help students develop their future career goals.
Can you describe what you are working on at your current internship/job?
I'm fortunate enough to be able to work at ATEC studios while teaching in the undergrad program as an adjunct professor.
