The Symphonic Band (formerly known as the AU Wind Ensemble) features woodwind, brass and percussion players performing from the popular and classical music for winds as well as transcriptions of works originally for orchestra and choir. AU undergraduate and graduate students from every college and major are welcome, as well as local community musicians.
Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. in the Katzen Arts Center, room 151. Auditions for seating take place during the first class period of the semester, with sign ups available the week before. One prepared solo should be performed in the placement audition.
