The lecture "The New Genetic's and Human Values " was given by Dr. Herman J. Saatkamp, Dean, IUPUI School of Liberal Arts Professor, Department of Philosophy Professor of Medical & Molecular Genetics and of Medical Humanities, School of Medicine, on Friday, April 19, 2002 in the Bentley Commons, Battelle-Tompkins 110.
Herman J. Saatkamp is Dean of the School of Liberal Arts at Indiana University-Purdue University, Indianapolis and Professor of Philosophy. He is also Professor of Medical and Molecular Genetics and of Medical Humanities in the School of Medicine.
Dr. Saatkamp is the author of numerous articles on ethical issues and moral responsibilities in genetics and public health. He is also the General Editor of The Works of George Santayana (Cambridge: MIT Press), a twenty-volume critical edition funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities; General Editor of the Vanderbilt Library of American Philosophy; and Co-Editor of Overheard in Seville: Bulletin of the Santayana Society.
