SPA Professor Jocelyn Johnston

Jocelyn Johnston, associate professor of public administration and policy, recently presented initial findings from her analysis of the Affordable Care Act’s implementation in Maryland as part of panel discussion on the law’s impact in more than 30 states.

Johnston’s research focuses on the rollout of the new legislation in Maryland and is part of a national effort sponsored by the Rockefeller Institute of Government (SUNY–Albany) and the Fels Institute of Government (University of Pennsylvania). The network project aims to issue periodic reports on the status of the ACA’s implementation and evolution in the states, as well as on some cross-cutting issues. The field researchers will also come together for a conference at Fels in May and at the Brookings Institute in October.

Johnston presented her findings at the National Health Policy Conference, hosted by AcademyHealth, in early February.
