Erin Kristine O’Neill, an Assistant Professor of Health Promotion, comes to American University’s School of Education, Teaching and Health with seven years of collective experience in the collegiate, private and public health sectors. As a Certified Health Education Specialist and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Dr. O’Neill enjoys a diverse academic background of exercise and sport science, health promotion and health education curriculum and instruction.

Dr. O’Neill’s interests lie in college student health development, the philosophies and theories of health promotion, and the components of healthy living. Her research involves the health risk behaviors of college freshmen and the effect of special interest residence housing on the alcohol consumption of incoming college students.
Dr. O’Neill teaches Introduction to Health Promotion, Nutrition, and Applied Physiology.
