TESOL Bachelor’s/Master's Degree

American University offers qualified students the opportunity to earn both undergraduate and graduate degrees through its accelerated bachelor’s/master’s program. American University undergraduate students may earn a bachelor’s degree in any field and a master’s in TESOL in as few as five and a half years. The department that oversees the graduate program the student enters will determine if the courses the undergraduate student completes satisfy master’s degree requirements. Bachelor’s/master’s students must complete at least 18 in-residence credit hours at the graduate level after the bachelor’s degree is earned and maintain continuous, sequential enrollment in both programs.

This program enables qualified students to earn both a BA or BS in any major and an MA in TESOL. Please note that this program is not designed for K–12 ESOL licensure.
