Please note: Persian is currently NOT being offered by WLC but it has been in the past. If there is a strong demonstrated interest, the program may resume.
The World Languages and Cultures supports the growing interest in the Middle East with an introductory program for Persian language. The courses include both Elementary through Intermediate Persian. The main goal is attaining proficiency in listening, speaking and reading the language. Listening comprehension drills are stressed at all levels and activities make use of multimedia resources. Intermediate courses emphasize more complex grammatical structures in culturally authentic contexts through speaking, reading and writing skills. In-class Persian communication between instructor and students is a regular feature of all classes.
