2014 Commencement Speaker
PAUL J. DIAZ (KOGOD/BSBA '84)
Paul Diaz (KSB/BSBA '84) is chief executive officer of Kindred Healthcare, Inc., one of the largest providers of healthcare services in the United States.
He will speak at the commencement ceremony for American University’s Kogod School of Business at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 10 in Bender Arena. He will receive an honorary Doctor of Laws degree.
Diaz is an attorney and accountant who earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting from American University's Kogod School of Business and a law degree from Georgetown University.
Diaz has been recognized numerous times for his leadership and business acumen. For the past six years, Modern Healthcare magazine named Diaz one of the 100 Most Powerful People in Healthcare. In 2008, 2010, and 2012 Modern Healthcare named him one of the top 25 Minority Executives in Healthcare. In addition, in 2008, 2009 and 2013 Hispanic magazine named Mr. Diaz one of the 25 Best Latinos in business.
