The Public Safety Office is the main contact for neighborhood issues or concerns that may involve AU students. Public Safety is open twenty-four hours a day, will log calls or complaints and forward them to the Office of the President and the Dean of Students.
When filing a complaint, please provide as much information as possible, including your name, phone number and identifying information of the persons causing concern (if known), such as name, address, vehicle make and license, and other helpful information.
The Dean of Students works with Public Safety to identify and contact campus individuals or parties who may have prompted the concern or complaint. If the students involved are members of a fraternity or a sorority, the coordinator of Greek Life also becomes involved and works closely with the Dean of Students.
Public Safety’s authority is limited to campus and university property, so D.C. Metropolitan police should be contacted if necessary. AU Public Safety will coordinate with D.C. Police to assist in ameliorating the issue.
