New Tenure Line Faculty Orientation
Orientation programs, held during the week before classes begin, serve as an introduction to the university for new tenure-line faculty and new term faculty. Both programs include an overview of the university and American University students as well as well as information on teaching and resources to help you get off to a successful start. The orientations are the first part of a year-long Entrée program for new faculty.
We are delighted to provide new faculty with a complete on-line guide to their first year at AU with our New Faculty Guide.
Benefits Briefings
Human Resources hold several Benefits Briefings sessions throughout July and August. New faculty will receive an email invitation from the HR Faculty Support Team with detailed information on signing up to attend one of the scheduled sessions. These scheduled Benefits Briefings will give new faculty the opportunity to complete the required I-9 form, tax forms, and review the benefits available as a faculty member at American University. There also will be an opportunity for faculty to complete all of the required benefits enrollment forms and ask any questions about their employment at the university.
Please email newfacultyinfo@american.edu for more information about Benefits Briefing.
