Next Steps in Teaching Today's AU Students

Mary Clark, Dean of Academic Affairs & Senior Vice Provost

Dear Colleagues,

Thank you again for all of your time and thoughtfulness in having Fanta and me join you and your colleagues to talk about talking about race, gender, and class in class. I'm writing now to invite you to a CTRL-facilitated follow-on discussion aimed at identifying resources and materials that would be helpful for faculty in addressing these issues in class. More specifically, the follow-on conversations will focus on how to navigate difficult conversations, what has worked and not worked for our faculty colleagues in the classroom, and what resources would be most helpful in addressing these issues.

The facilitated discussions will be held on Tuesday, March 31 (12-1:30 in the Butler Conference room with Marilyn Goldhammer and Mieke Meurs as facilitators) and on Thursday, April 2 (12-1:30 in MGC 203/205 with Marilyn Goldhammer and Bette Dickerson as facilitators).

Please let us know if you will be able to join us for one of these discussion sessions. Please RSVP to indicating which of the two sessions you would like to join.

Thank you,
