Google Earth

Google Earth is a geographical information program that allows you to visualize maps on a virtual globe. Google Earth uses superimposed images obtained from satellite imagery and aerial photography. You can explore existing layers or create your own to display data and other information.

Where can I use Google Earth on Campus?

What workshops do you offer?

CTRL Lab offers a variety of workshops each semester to train members of the AU community in the software that it supports. Examples of workshops we have offered in the past can be seen below, and you can follow the link to view our current schedule. If you are interested receiving training that is not listed in our regular workshop schedule, please contact us by email to request an appointment.

Introduction to Google Earth & GE Pro: This course is designed to introduce the common functions of Google Earth (free version) and Google Earth Pro (paid version). You will develop skills for: customizing layers using place marks, path, polygons; recording tours and other tools available from Google Earth Pro; and exporting your maps as an image file or .kml or.kmz file to share your work.
