Herman Schwartz wrote Right Wing Justice: The Conservative Campaign to Take Over the Courts (Nation Press, 2004) and The Struggle for Constitutional Justice in Post-Communist Europe (University of Chicago Press, July 2000). He edited and contributed to The Rehnquist Court: Judicial Activism on the Right (Hill & Wang, 2002). He was named the 2006 Champion of Justice by the Alliance for Justice.
