Shakespeare and Literary Theory

This course examines how literary theory is less something to be applied to Shakespeare and more something that has been inspired by Shakespearean texts. The class looks at several key theoretical movements of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries in order to trace their Shakespearean lineage. Readings include both theoretical texts and Shakespeare's plays and poems to generate theories of literary analysis. Meets with LIT-696 001.
